Knysna



Whale Watching
Get up close and personal with these majestic giants that inhabit our vast and pristine Indian ocean. Southern Right and Humpback whales, grace us with their presence from June to November showing off their acrobatic skills while nurturing their young. The boat-based whale watching trip is generally about 2 hours long, with 3 departure times daily.
Marine Eco Tour
A boat-based adventure through the Knysna Heads exploring fascinating coves, caves and bays. Amongst this natural beauty the dolphins, seals, penguins and birdlife reside in harmony in their natural habitat. A trip is generally about 1hr 30min long, with 3 departure times daily.
Knysna Heads Adventure
A boat-based educational adventure of the expansive estuary and dynamic Knysna Heads. The Estuary consists of fascinating birdlife and compelling history. This captivating place is a unique marine protected area inhabited by 43% of South Africa’s plant and animal life.
Knysna Elephant Park
The day starts with a short 30-min. walk through the beautiful Garden of Eden, before heading to
the Knysna Elephant Park, where you can interact with these animals in their natural environment, by walking with them and feeding them, since there are no fences. This experience leaves visitors with a sense of awe for these magnificent animals. Enjoy lunch at Newstead Wine Estate followed by a visit to The Heath local arts and craft market.
Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour
Take a 30-min. walk through the beautiful Garden of Eden, before moving on to Tsitsikamma forest for your guided zip-line experience. The 2-3 hour tour begins with a detailed safety briefing followed by a ‘kitting up’ session where a full body harness, pulleys and other equipment is issued and checked. The tour consists of ten slides each ending on a platform constructed in the trees. No climbing or jumping necessary. The platforms, built high up in the giant Outeniqua Yellowwoods, provide an unbelievable view of this enchanting forest. Then enjoy a light lunch in the forest.



Oudtshoorn



Meerkats
If you love nature then this tour is for you! Oudtshoorn is situated in the northern part of the Garden Route and is the perfect place to view Meerkats. Tours only commence at sunrise and dependent on fair weather, since meerkats will not venture outside their burrows on cold and rainy days. (No tours on rainy days & Christmas day). Meerkats are part of the so-called Shy-5 which also includes the bat-eared fox, the aardvark, porcupine and aardwolf. The meerkat tour lasts between 2-3 hours and booking is essential. Upon arrival at the meerkat burrows, guests are treated to a hot cup of coffee, after which they are issued with a lightweight aluminium chair to sit in while observing the meerkats as they come out of the burrow into the sunshine and then go about their daily routine of foraging and frolicking. These habituated wild animals are never fed or handled by humans. Tours are presented by an experienced tour guide. It is a fantastic experience and unique privilege to get this close to these little creatures in the wild.
Cango Caves
Heritage Tour
This tour is an easy walk through the first six largest and most spectacular halls, continuing through to the African Drum room with a few stairways.
Adventure Tour
This is a medium risk activity with exciting passages and narrow tunnels requiring a degree of fitness. It is for lean people only and is essential to wear non-slip footgear. Children younger than six years may not partake in this tour. If you weigh more than 85kg, the Heritage tour would be a more suitable option for you.
Ostrich Show Farms
Learn the fascinating story of ostriches and ostrich farming in Oudtshoorn for over a hundred years, and its guided tours have delighted visitors from all over the world. Meet ostriches face to face, learn about ostrich farming, and enjoy everyone’s favourite – ostrich races! Fun for the entire family as well as informative – a great experience!
Stargazing
Embark on a stargazing experience from several Oudtshoorn based guest houses on the outskirts of the town which offer clear night skies. Stargazing starts from 8pm including dinner. During this experience of the celestial southern hemisphere, you will be introduced to the most prominent Stars, Galaxies, Globular Clusters, Constellations and Planets visible.
Plettenberg Bay



Wildlife Wild Cat Tour
Take a 1-hour guided tour to learn about the indigenous wild cats of South Africa and a tour of the wildlife centre at Plettenberg Bay. See African Wild Cats Servals Caracals, Cheetahs, Lions and Leopard, as well as other wildlife such as meerkats marabou storks and much more!
This is a unique opportunity to get close to some amazing creatures and learn about their struggle to survive in the wild.
The program includes a visit to the Penguin Splash Pool where you can learn more about the marine conservation work involved.
The Cheetah Walk
This is a popular program which combines a cheetah walk and guided tour of the centre to see the indigenous cats of South Africa and other endangered wildlife. Walk either in the morning or afternoon through Cape Floral Fynbos and wooded Tsitsikamma indigenous Forest. Only a few guests each day are privileged to join the cheetahs for this special time, so pre-book your tour.
Learn interesting facts about each species and what is contributing to their decline in the wild. You will also gain an insight into the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre. Beverages and light refreshments are included.
Bloukrans Bungee
Situated at Bloukrans Bridge on the N2 Highway at the border between the Eastern Cape and the Western Cape in the Tsitsikamma area of South Africa’s Garden Route.
The view from Africa’s highest bridge captures all the majesty and tranquillity of the Bloukrans River valley. But there is nothing tranquil about throwing yourself more than 200 metres down towards the river below. Recognised as the ‘highest bungee from a bridge’ in the world, Bloukrans Bungy uses pendulum bungee technology to ensure the smoothest, most comfortable bungee jump possible.
