A scattering of palm-dotted islands, flood plains and woodland make up the concession and typifies the region’s unique landscape. The Khwai concession is known for its abundant wildlife, especially predators including lions, leopards and the rare African wild dog.
Khwai Community Area
The Khwai area of the Okavango lies along the northern boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve. This is an unfenced boundary allowing wildlife to move freely between the woodlands in the wet season when water is plentiful and back to permanent rivers and lagoons in the dry season. The Khwai area offers the same wildlife experience as the reserve with the added advantage of being a private concession which means the ability to do walking safaris and night drives.
Khwai Tented Camp is set within the Okavango’s community-run Khwai Concession, the camp laps up its beautiful lagoon front setting. Perched on a raised deck, with sweeping lagoon views connecting to the Khwai River, this beautiful camp seamlessly blends into the surrounding woodland area. Simple yet elegant, Khwai Tented Camp strikes the perfect balance between homely touches whilst not detracting from the wild environment.

Choose to spend your days relaxing on the floating deck and traversing the Zambezi River by boat, or go exploring get swept away by the numerous activities the area has to offer. Livingstone (Victoria Falls)
One of the original natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls is a World Heritage Site and an extremely popular tourism attraction. Known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ this spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe and it is an ideal place to combine game viewing and water sports. There is excellent fishing, a terrifying bungee jump and arguably the best commercial white-water rafting in the world.

Drawing inspiration from local customs and culture, it is a modern contemporary design with tented roof structures to maintain the feel of authentic Africa. The communal deck is set on the edge of the stunning riverside and is home to a sunken boma area and an infinity pool.

Finish your African adventure at Somalisa Camp which is set in its own private concession in the heart of Hwange National Park, known as ‘the land of the giants’. Somalisa is renowned for attracting large elephant herds to its elephant pool in front of camp. Somalisa was also awarded the first GOLD Green Tourism Certification in Zimbabwe and is credited as being the leading eco-friendly safari destination in Zimbabwe.
Hwange National Park
Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s biggest reserve, home to a profusion of wildlife, including giraffe, lion, zebra and approximately 40 000 elephants. It provides sanctuary for all the country’s endangered species, including a population of wild dogs thought to be among the most sizeable surviving groups on the continent. Terrain ranges from desert dunes and savannah lands to rocky outcrops and sparse forests, and visitors have the choice of game drives, guided walks or horseback safaris as a means of experiencing the park and its creatures.
