The Magaliesburg Canopy Tour
The tour consists of about a kilometre long “foefie” slide divided up into separate slides of varying lengths. Slides are joined together by platforms built high on the cliff faces of the 2500 year old Magaliesberg Mountain Range. Slides of up to 140 meter long provide unforgettable rides and spectacular views.

Taung Heritage Site
‘The Place of the Lion’ named after Tau, the chief of the Bataung people, who made his headquarters here during the 18th century. Taung became famous in 1924 with the discovery of a fossilised skull of a child. This discovery led many scientists to believe that the origin of early man was initiated on the African continent. Clear water flows through a succession of attractive pools in this ancient valley. Magnificent scenery, blue pools, limestone cliffs and picturesque caves provide an ideal spot for hiking and abseiling.

Vredefort Dome
Created by a massive meteorite which struck the earth about 3,000 million years ago. The structure is currently regarded the biggest and oldest, clearly visible impact structure on Earth. It just beats the Sudbury impact structure in Canada for this ranking. Today, the Conservancy is one of the province’s prime adventure tourism sites and caters for the needs of campers, hikers, cyclists, rock climbers, canoeists and white-water rafters.
Rock Climbing
The cliffs are big, wild, often remote and still being discovered. The North West offers some of the best, and most diverse, rock climbing in the world.
Water Sports
A multitude of perfect spots for an adventure getaway, with ample opportunity for windsurfing, sailing, parasailing, jet skiing, skiing, white water rafting, canoeing or body-boarding.
Lesedi Cultural Village
It showcases the different tribes of South Africa with a strong focus on how they live in the village and why culture is important in the Africa environment.
Lion & Safari Park
The park is an eco-tourism destination that offers a sanctuary for important species, particularly the endangered Wild Dog, the rare White Lion and Cheetah. The park provides a fantastic opportunity to get up close and personal with the wildlife of Africa. During the game drives, visitors can explore the trails along the banks of the Crocodile River, as well as the forests and valleys of the game park.
Harbeespoort
Referred to by locals as “Harties”, is surrounded by plenty of attractions and activities and easily accessible from either Johannesburg or Pretoria. The Aerial Cableway extends to the top of the Magaliesberg and offers stunning panoramic views of the Magaliesburg as well as the dam. Enjoy superb Restaurants, Express Food Stalls as well as a Bar and children can wander along the Dassie Loop walkway or play in the KidZone.
Monkey & Elephant Sanctuary
Come and explore and bring the kids! These sanctuaries provide a natural environment for orphaned and abused animals, situated west of Hartbeesport Dam.

Pilanesberg National Park
