Zimbabwe Safari

Day 1 - 3

On arrival at Bulawayo airport you will be met by your guide and transferred by road to Big Cave Camp, which is situated on a private reserve in the foothills of the Matobo National Park. You will spend the first 2 days of your Zimbabwe safari exploring the infamous rock formations, learning about Khoisan rock art and the history of Zimbabwe.

Big Cave reposes atop an enormous granite whaleback commanding inspirational views across the famous Matobo National Park. Sophisticated African architecture incorporates colossal boulders into a luxuriously appointed thatch lodge positioned amidst ancient Khoisan rock art. Retire at day's end to the natural rockpool and sundeck, the Leopard's Lair Lounge & Bar, a cave-style boma for pre-dinner drinks or the popular lodge library. Big Cave Camp resides on a 2000 acre private wilderness area that borders Matobo National Park and is included in a World Heritage Area.

Day 3 - 6

After breakfast at Big Cave camp you will continue your Zimbabwe safari and be driven by your guide for approx. 3 hours through rural Zimbabwe passing Ndebele villages to Hwange National Park, and your luxury private mobile tented camp where you will spend the next 4 days of your Zimbabwe safari.

Accommodation is in fully furnished East African Safari Tents with en-suite bathrooms ( flush toilets & hot water bucket showers ) in Hwange National Park. Hwange is a 'big-five' wildlife sanctuary, roughly the size of Belgium and famous for large concentrations of elephants and diverse wildlife & bird species. Mobile tented safaris will definitely get you up close and personal with the wilds of Africa, yet without compromise of your comfort and safety.

The luxury of these safaris is that you have full flexibility to do as much or as little game driving/walking/relaxing in camp as you wish. Your camp will be exclusive to your group so you will not have to share activities or submit to anyone else's daily itinerary. In addition you have a private game drive vehicle and you can benefit from the focused attention of your private guide who is there to host you on your safari.

All in all - an uncontrived, true African experience that will guarantee you an unforgettable African adventure and memories to last for all time.
